Can't anyone DO something about all this snow? I want to go romping through the woods and play!

The fence in this dog yard is 6 feet plus an angled extension (which the vines are growing over) bringing it up close to another foot. There is less than a foot to go now before the top of the fence is covered. You can slightly see the "trail" the dogs have made through the yard to do their business. One more snow storm and a little wandering mood and they'll be able to step right over their fence and walk out! yes we need to shovel out there I guess, it's not usually an issue since most years they pack down a more normal amount of snow just through playing out there. The dogs don't seem to be spending much time outdoors these days anyway, the people either! Go away winter!!

homework blahs

I got Hayley this t-shirt to provide some comic relief. Hayley is the main one who wanted to take co-op classes this year and she does love them except for the HOMEWORK. She has 4 classes and in two of them they tend to give rather a lot of homework. Hayley doesn't seem to like doing the homework and I don't like keeping after her to do it, after all isn't this one of the reasons we homeschool-to avoid all this homework hassle! The last several weekend have been filled with me reminding the kids to do any co-op homework and them finding ways to avoid it. Hopefully this shirt will help make it all just a tiny bit better. Maybe nobody will want to do co-op classes next year because of all this homework....a Mom can hope!

Still have sick kids here. Into week two of sick children, some getting better while some at the worst of this cold. This morning Colin was still in bed at 9:30. Colin rarely sleeps in, I know he's sick when he does.

Fluffy doesn't go outdoors much even in the best of weather. I had to leave the door open as I first began shovelling from the latest storm. Fluffy seemed very interested in the mini mountains of snow.

Cats sure like to interrupt what you're doing! Juley the cat was slowly pushing the lap-desk further and further off Hayley's lap.

Mystery of the white stuff on the tail.

Flower the cat had this white stuff that looked like dried up paint, plaster or white bread dough mix on his tail and underneath today. We have no painting, plastering or bread making projects going on lately. So how did Flower aquire this white stuff? We think he has been secretly painting in the night, maybe even working towards an art show.

Or the little boys are involved and aren't talking!

Or Flower has been visiting neighbors, who aren't all that close by here in the country and they are painting or plastering or bread making.

It's a mystery!

It did wash off, whatever IT is.

Save me Hayley!

Poppy, our border collie dog, is perhaps the most highly strung and nervous dog on the planet. She's loyal, lovable and a protector but noises tend to frighten her. Perhaps something in her puppyhood occured, we'll never know why she is like this but she has always been. Today we were bringing in some wood and a heavy peice fell loudly to the floor. In a split second Poppy was across the room and onto Hayley's lap, seeming to say protect me sister!

Yes we tell Hayley the dogs are her sisters now, in hopes it may stop her dressing her youngest brother Tristan as a girl!

Tristan learned about China the last two weeks in his around the world class and this weeks' cub scout meeting was about the chinese zodiac. Tristan is a becoming a champion Chinese information guy!

Oh why???

We needed to leave the house at 9:00 am and the snow plow left this mess blocking our path. All the old icy snow mixed up with the new snow. Not as high but an equally icy, hard to shovel pile was in front of the car.

This was a line of boys at co-op all playing their video games. It was very cute but I don't want to post other families kids pictures this close up without their knowledge. This seems to be the little/middle/young teen boy winter activity now that they can't go outside and play. They sit along the wall with easy access to electric plugs in case a charge is needed!



Time to go home! made it through another Tuesday co-op day.

If the earth were made of playdoh how colorful it would be! Tristan's favorite thing from Monday group, they each made a playdoh earth to learn about the layers of the earth.

Hayley was attempting to hide from her brothers while talking with a girl scout friend on the phone. Then MOM had to sneak up and take a picture and got a look from the daughter. LOL I just thought it was cute that she likes to talk on the phone now.

Colin says: I sprayed myself with spiderman web stuff!

Monday was Colin's 10th birthday! He was happy to recieve several typical boy things such as spiderman stuff and a long wished for spy car. The spy car needed 12 batteries! Hubby got the idea to buy Colin his own battery charger pictured here,



and the batteries to be charged up!

Colin got a kick out of this gift!

Poppy the dog is scared of Hayley's remote control tarantula. Hayley tried to reassure Poppy that it's not real. Hayley does want a real tarantula too. Don't know what Poppy would do then, probably need to go into doggie counseling!

It's that time of year again, Christmas....for Eastenders a UK show we watch. It is quite annoying to have to wait 6 weeks after Christmas to see the Eastenders Christmas show each year. It's all so festive and depressing!

Does this happen to others? Every time I have a load of laundry from one of my younger three children there are not only people clothes but also toy animals, doll clothes, animal clothes, etc in the laundry basket. This time it was Hayley's basket and I found two neopet creatures towards the bottom. Yesterday was Tristan's basket and I found one small red critter of unknown breeding and a super hero cape belonging to a bear.
